DE2 SOUND BUG

An erroneus sound slot errror appears in
/var/log/messages when kde2 first starts up.
This 'bug' exists on all versions of kde2 up to (at least)
kde2.2-11
For some inexplicable reason, kde defaults to TWO mixers and
TWO soundcards. This causes modprobe to scream that it cannot
find sound-slot-1 (the second card).
The fix is easy
Control Center (Big Green Button)
-> Sound -> Mixer -> Hardware settings.
change both values from "2" to "1"
Voila.
Note. There is no damage caused by the default settings, it is
merely annoying to see it in var/log/messages and leads to the
erroneous assumption that something is 'wrong' with your
/etc/modules.conf
