TESTED ON COL 2.3 using KDE
 

I have a SiS620 which currently runs COL2.x in 16bpp at 1280x1024 flawlessly.

Setting it up does require a bit more work, but in the long run, it is worth it.

Here's what is needed:

1) Go to

ftp://ftp.iron-bridge.net/pub/Caldera/AfterSHoCK2.3/X-3.3.6/

and download

XFree86-SVGA-3.3.6-ol23.LSE.1.i386.rpm

plus all RPM's from XFree86-addons-3.3.6-ol23.LSE.1.i386.rpm downward.

2) Install it with the following command:

  rpm -Uvh <insert_file_name_here>

3) Run xf86config and select the SVGA server.

4) Everything should now be setup and ready to run.  Type
"startkde"

and see what happens, as you should get KDE after a few moments of flickering
screens which is first gray, and then black, and then comes up to the graphical login.
